Narcissus and Echo
Once upon a time, there lived a Greek God's son named Narcissus, who grew up in a town called Thespis in Boeotia. He was known to be the most beautiful man, so many women and men were attracted to him.
In Boeotia also lived a mountain Nymph named Echo. She talked to the Greek Goddess Hera so often that Hera took away Echo's ability to talk. Echo could only repeat the last thing that someone said to her.
This annoyed Narcissus, and he decided that he did not want to be with Echo.
One day, Echo saw Narcissus standing by a pond. She instantly fell in love with him. As the two started to talk, Narcissus realized that Echo could only repeat what he had just said.

All this time, a bird named Philip had been sitting in a tree and watching. After Echo and Narcissus were gone he said, "You know, its such a shame that Echo loved Narcissus more than he loved her. Sometimes people are too self-centered to realize the love around them. I have started to see that more and more." And with that, Philip flew away.
