  • Subject pronoun: A subject pronoun is a pronoun that takes the place of the noun as the subject.
  • Here's a sentence: Kate jumped into the pool with no hesitation. Kate is the subject pronoun.
  • Object pronoun: An object pronoun is used as the direct/indirect object or the object of a preposition
  • Here's a sentence: I am going to read a story to you. You is the object pronoun.
  • Possessive pronoun: A possessive pronoun is a pronoun when the pronoun demonstrates possession (having or owning something). 
  • Here's a sentence: That dog in the field is mine. Mine is the possessive pronoun.
  • Indefinite pronoun: An indefinite pronoun is a pronoun that doesn't refer to any person, amount, or thing in particular. 
  • Here's a sentence: Everyone in the room was helping. Everyone is the indefinite pronoun.
  • Demonstrative pronoun: A demonstrative pronoun is a pronoun that points out a person, place, or thing.
  • Here's a sentence: These are two girls who are dressed in pink. These is the demonstrative pronoun.
  • Interrogative pronoun: An interrogative pronouns are pronouns used to ask questions.
  • Here's a sentence: Who ate the last piece of cake? Who is the interrogative pronoun.
