THE CHURCH REMINDS YOU OF YOU'RE SINS. "At that instant , catching a glimpse of his figure in the looking-glass, the black veil involved his own spirit in the horror with which it overwhelmed all others"(Hawthorne6).
He never takes off the veil after he dies. "Still veiled, they laid him in his coffin, and a veiled corpse they bored him to the grave"(Hawthorne13).
