Hermia's Father the King wishes for Hermia to marry Demetrius, but Hermia would hate nothing more than to marry him, and is in love with Lysander, him also loving her back.
Hermia runs away with Lysander, but before doing so she tells her best friend Helena, who is in love with Demetrius. Helena tells him, thinking that if she does, he will care about her and fall in love. They all end up running after each other in the woods.
In the woods, A fairy named puck tries to solve the mistaken love and accidentally makes Lysander fall in love with Helena. While trying to fix this mistake he makes Demetrius fall in love with her too.
When the lovers finally go to sleep, and puck makes sure they dont kill each other, he reverses his wrongs, and truns around the love spell so that everything goes back to normal.
While out in the woods, the duke comes upon the four lovers, and while confused, he invites them to get married during his wedding ceremony.
In the end, everyone is married. The play "Pyramus and Thisbe" is performed, and puck asks everyone to remember everything as a dream.
