  • How a Bill Becomes a Law
  • Slow down!!!
  • zoom
  • I should write to our senator to create a law to make the speed limit in neighborhoods 15mph
  • Letter from citizen
  • I think she makes a valid point. I will send this into the  speaker of the house!
  • It has come to my attention that speed limits in neighborhoods need to be lowered to 15 mph. I've chosen this specific group to be apart of the committee.
  • The committee votes whether the bill is ready to be sent to the other branch in Congress. The bill is sent to the other branch who also votes if it should pass.
  • After both branches of Congress vote and agree on the bill, it is sent to the White House. At the White House, the President can do three of the following options: pass, veto, or a pocket veto. If he or she passes the bill it becomes a law. If it is vetoed, the bill goes back to Congress. Lastly, if it's pocket vetoed, the President simply lets the bill die or it automatically becomes a law.
