Storyboard Text

  • One day, Hades, God of the Underworld, spotted Persephone. He instantly fell in love with her beauty and thought of a plan to kidnap her and bring her to the underworld.
  • Hades consulted his brother Zeus of his plan and they discussed how they would bring about it.
  • Hades then kidnapped Persephone and carried her away to the underworld on a golden chariot. Persephone became very upset because she did not want to live in the underworld with him.
  • After realizing the Persephone had gone missing, her mother, Demeter, became depressed and began to search for her.
  • After being unable to find her daughter, Demeter gave up on caring for the land and the plants and animals began dying and the earth began to turn cold and ruin.
  • Hades realized the struggle on the Earth and became more desperate to keep Persephone in the underworld as his wife. He thought up a plan to feed Persephone a pomegranate, and for every seed that she ate, it would trap her in the underworld for one moth per year.
