  • You know I love you. 
  • Gatsby vs. Tom
  • You forget there is a lady present.
  • Nick vs. Gatsby
  • Nevertheless he is an Oxford man.
  • Oxford, New Mexico
  • Tom vs. Society 
  • They should not be in public together!
  • Daisy tells Tom to leave the room and fetch the group some drinks, but after he leaves Daisy kisses Gatsby. Daisy does not know this yet but Tom is now aware of Daisy and Gatsby's relationship.
  • Nick is in the car with Gatsby and Jordan when all of the sudden Tom says Gatsby is not an Oxford man and is from Oxford, New Mexico.  Nick now thinks of Gatsby as untrustworthy because he was disillusioned by him.
  • Tom is in a conflict with society because he is wealthy and can do what ever he wants but people do not approve of him taking myrtle into public. Tom does not care what anyone else thinks and takes myrtle to restaurants or other public places and they do what they please.
