The Immigrants came on boats to America to buy cheap lands or come to a new place that was safe then where they currently lived.
Even in the North where slavery was not allowed many African Americans still faced discrimination.
In the South rich white families owned slaves that did the work in the field. The main crop was cotton.
In the South rich white families had slaves to do their work. In the South their biggest crops was cotton.
Slaves where bought and sold like cattle to be laborers for the white people. Women were used as house mains ,men where used as crop workers.
