Storyboard Text

  • Americans are taking men and women from their home land to force into slavery.
  • Who cares how we treat them? We are going to have so much money!
  • The slaves were then auctioned off to the highest bidder, usually being separated from their family.
  • Who would like to purchase a very helpful slave?
  • I cannot be apart from my son!
  • Slaves had terrible living conditions. Their masters spent the least amount of money on them as possible.
  • I'm so tired from working in the field all day, and I do not even have a bed to relax in!
  • We do so much for our masters. The least they could do is give us clean clothes and a bed.
  • While slaves barely had enough to live, because of the free labor slave masters were living more luxuriously than ever.
  • Do not worry! It was no sweat off my back.
  • Thanks Dad for giving me everything I ever wanted!
  • Slaves were starting to escape to the north and tell their tragic stories of slavery. The northerners then started to support abolition.
  • We must put an end to slavery!
  • We lost our son and worked endless hours for no pay.
  • The northerners wanted to help the slaves, but not at the expense of their money.
  • If slaves are freed, we'll have more competition for jobs.
  • I want to help, but my factory relies on the cheap prices of the south's cotton.
