  • France is in debt from previous wars and does not tax enough.
  • Please pay your taxes. We are in debt from previous wars and we need support.
  • King Louis XVI is forced to have meeting.
  • You must have a meeting of the Estates-General.
  • Meeting of the Estates- Generals.
  • The first estate was the clergy.
  • Oath of the Tennis Court
  • We will no longer settle with a small amount of power compared to the first and second estates!
  • So   Louis XVI   called  the meeting of the Estates-General. The Estates-General consisted of the three estates:
  • Bastille Day, July 14, 1789
  • And the third estate was the remaining 98% percent of people - the commoners.
  • The second estate was the nobility.
  • After the meeting of the Estates-General, the third estate decided to break off from the monarchy, and write  the Declaration of the Rights of Man. 
  • On this day, the National Assembly was having economical issues, and went to the governor of the Bastille. They demanded that they would receive his guns and cannons, but he wouldn't give in. That day, the riot killed the governor and other soldiers and guards.
