Storyboard Text

  • What if I want to find the sum, or total by adding two improper fractions. That's when the numerator is greater than the denominator!
  • Sure, why not? I hope it's about fractions!
  • Hey, Bob! Do you want to play a math game with me?
  • Do you know the difference between the numerator and the denominator in a fraction?
  • Yes, the numerator is the top numnber in a fraction. It shows how many parts we have. The denominator is the bottom number, it shows the whole number
  • ?????
  • Did you know that in order to add or subtract fractions, you have to make a common denominator by multiplying the top and bottom of each fraction by the denominator of the other?
  • Great question, Bob!
  • To add two improper fractions, you have to follow these steps. Step 1: Keep the denominator the same. Step 2: Add or subtract the numerators. Step 3: If the answer is an improper form, reduce the fraction into a mixed number
  • YEAH! LET'S PLAY!
  • To change a improper fraction to a mixed number, you have to divide the numerator by the denominator. Now are you finally ready to play this game?!!!
