  • Helen Keller was born on June 27, 1880 in Tuscumbia, Alabama. 
  •  When Helen was one  year and six months old, she got a high fever. When she was better, she lost her sight and her hearing.  
  • When she was little, she was very mischievous.  
  • Helen was very unhappy. Then, in 1887, she met Anne Sullivan, a teacher.
  • Anne taught Helen how to speak by spelling words with her fingers on Helen's hands. She also taught her to read Braille.
  • Helen Keller wrote many books.  Helen also visited hurt soldiers that had lost their hearing and sight. Helen died  June 1st, 1968.
