  • My name is Alexander Hamilton, and I am a Federalist!
  • Well, my name is Thomas Jefferson, and I am a Republican!
  • Federalists believed in a strong central government. They also liked a representative government led by qualified elected leaders, not orinary people.
  • Republicans wanted ordinary people to participate fully in the government, and they feared a strong central government.
  • Now, this election was a very close call, but with 71 votes, John Adams from the Federalist party is now president! With 68 votes,Thomas Jefferson from the Republican partyis now Vice President!
  • I want a strong central government with qualified elected officials!
  • I do not want a strong central government! I also want ordinary people to be involved with government!
