Those of his chamber, Those of his chamber...their hands and faces were all badged with blood. So were their daggers
O, by whom?
The alarm has been rung as the murder of Duncan has been discovered. Lady Macbeth enters, questioning, to which Macduff replies a murder has occurred.
O, yet I do repent me of my fury,That I did kill them.
Banquo enters and Macduff announces the news, to which he comments that this act was too cruel to happen anywhere.
Why do we hold our tongues,That most may claim this argument for ours?
As Malcom, is given the news, he questions who committed the murder. Lennox deduces that it was Duncan's chambermaids as they were covered in his blood and had the weapons hidden under their pillow.
Where our fate,Hid in an auger-hole, may rush, and seize us?Let 's away
Macbeth announces that, in his fury, he killed the chambermaids.
Malcom asks his brother why they remain silent and allow others to speak on their behalf. It is a matter that affects them most directly and they should therefore speak up.
Donalbain expresses fear that they might be killed next, for whoever planned their father's murder would definitely also want to be rid of them. He recommends that they should flee.
