  • Autocrasy & Czars
  • Autocrasy is when all of the power is in the hands of a czar, like me. I decide everything for my country and people.
  • Czar Nicholas II
  • My father, Czar Nicholas, was a firm ruler. When I took the throne it was clear that I was not a good ruler. I was very shy, and didn't make many good decisions as a ruler.
  • Russia Industrializes
  • Czar Nicholas made a mistake by not choosing to industrialize Russia earlier. Although our country is the lead producer of steel, our working conditions are terrible and our children are being forced to work.
  • One cause of the Russian Revolution was autocrasy. The czar had the power to decide everything for the government and the people. The people did not like this because the Russian czars were not always great rulers.
  • Lenin
  • My full name is Vladimir Ilyich Ulyanov. I am a Russian revolutionary who became the leader of the Bolsheviks.
  • Czar Nicholas II was not a very good leader. He was very shy and not good at speaking to crowds, and was more involved with his family than with his reign over Russia. He also made many poor decisions concerning the Russian people.
  • Romanov Family Steps Down
  • Russia industrialized very late. They were the leading producer of steel and also built the Trans-Siberian Railway- the longest railroad in the world. Unfortunately, working conditions were terrible and children were forced to work. Workers began to grow angry and wanted to overthrow the government.
  • Stalin
  • I snaked my way into power. I am ruthless and mean. I am responsible for the deaths of millions of Russians.
  • Vladimir Lenin was the ruler of the Bolsheviks. He had an engaging personality and was a good orginizer on top of being ruthless. Lenin had to leave Russia to not get arrested, but returned to assist in the revolution.
  • The Romanov family was murdered to ensure the end of autocracy in Russia. A provisional government was created, but it only worsened Russia's situation.
  • The revolution causes Czar Nicholas to abdicate his throne. After months of imprisonment, the Romanov family is killed, and autocracy is over in Russia.
  • Joseph Stalin was a good leader but a terrible person. He was a sociopath who was paranoid and enjoyed killing millions of Russians. He used secret police and propaganda.
