The horrible conditions of the trenches left soilders not only phiscally harmed but also mentally. Men were in constant fear for their lives.

The Canadians captured Hill 145 and by April 22nd they had taken "the pimple" the last german postion.
The Canadians had had gained more ground, taken more prisoners, and captured more artillary than any British defence in the war.
Canadians captured Passiondale but the allies had gained only 7 or 8 km, and the germans soon recaptured the town.

The end of the war: After 4 long years in war, an Armistice was declared (a truce to end the war). It was signed at 5:00am on Nov. 11th and the war was to stop at 11:00am
