Why is there so many people going? There is 60,00 people going . Oh and there he is Mansa Musa leading the journey!
Okay everybody I am here to tell you to prepare yourselves. We are going on the religious journey (hajj) It will take approximately 4,000 miles and will take around a year to get to Mecca.
We have stopped at Taghaza so Mansa Musa can trade gold for salt. We will use salt to preserve the foods that we need to feed all of these people on a big trip.
As we reach out final stop at Mecca I wanted to remind you all some of the rules that we need to follow on this spiritual journey. We have to all remember that we must not hurt ourselves or others. Along with that remember to be overall peaceful.
After 3 months in Egypt of spending and donating gold Mansa Musa has that he would not say that the emperor of Egypt was superior to him. Here he is being thanked by someone who has just received gold from him. Spending so much gold in Egypt decreased the value of it.
This trip did not only accomplish a major religious step for Mansa Musa and his people but it also strengthened trade routs with the places they visited. This also made them receive unwanted attention from Europe because they had a lot of money.
