It was a dark and stormy night. Felix had left his home long ago, and he now lived life as a feral cat.
I wish I still had an owner. He gave me everything I needed to survive.
Life as a feral cat was very difficult. You had to dig through trash and compete with other feral cats for food.
I'm not going to survive much longer if I don't find a home.
Today's cats are very different from the cats that lived a long time ago. They are mostly reliant on humans. Most cats still like to hunt for food though, and some have to, as feral cats roam the streets of many town and cities.
Cats have very sharp claws and teeth that they use to hunt down prey for food. But, even though they can, many cats don't hunt because their owner provides them with food and safety. A long time ago, cats started evolving and forming relationships with humans. In ancient Egypt, cats were portrayed as gods. Since then cats have gotten closer and closer with humans, and some mutant breeds, such as munchkin cats, have been created by humans.
Nowadays, cats mainly live in areas alongside humans, either living with an owner, or as a feral cat scavenging for food that humans have thrown away. They have very good eyesight and hearing, which they use to detect any prey or predators around them. Most cats are solitary creatures that prefer to be by themselves. Cats are predators to many animals, such as small birds and mice.
Hey there little buddy. What're you doing? Want to come home with me?
