Today I am going to tell you about what went well and what didn't during my field placement.
The Wolf ate the pigs
All three pigs were safe in the brick house.
When I taught the small group lesson it went well. In order to motivate my students, I created a "Super Special Secret Bag" and filled it will goodies. I told them all if they participated and tried their best they would see what was in it. This really motivated the students. However, since I didn't know the students likes and dislikes there was one who didn't like the candy inside the bag.
During the whole class lesson on comparing the stories told in the first and third person point of view, we created Venn diagrams. To accommodate all students they could write in words and or draw pictures. This was helpful to the students but since they were drawing detailed pictures it took longer than the students who just wrote words.
The students loved the book, "The True Story of The Three Little Pigs." They all thought it was funny the way I changed my voice as I read the book to them!
The students did a great job working in their small groups during our literacy lesson coming up with ideas for their Venn diagrams.
The writing task was too difficult for some of the students during our small group writing lesson and they had a difficult time even getting a paragraph down on the paper.
