If it's going to help get justice for Khalil then yes Mm I have to go.
Khalil gets shot by the officers, and ending up dieing right there in front of Star.
Star baby, you don't have to if you don't want to.
“He comes to his door. It’s not smart to make a sudden move. Khalil does.He opens the driver’s door. “You okay, Starr--” Pow! One. Khalil’s body jerks. Blood splatters from his back. He holds on to the door to keep himself upright. Pow! Two. Khalil gasps. Pow! Three. Khalil looks at me, stunned. He falls to the ground.” (23)
Propels The Action By....
Khalil getting shot, creates a problem for Star and everybody else that heard of what happened. Some wanted Justice for him and others didn’t even care. This brought family members and friends devastated, so they wanted to show their love for Khalil and give him justice. The people that do love him will stay on the case and fight for him until there is no more fighting left to do.
I don't think I can do this, maybe I should've said no. Nevermind, it's justice for Khalil I HAVE To do this.
Star decides to go into the detectives and answer some question. This will helps Khalil get his justice he needs.
Will 115 be there?
“I was just telling your parents how the detectives would like for you to come in and answer a few questions.” “But you don’t have to do it if you don’t wanna,” Daddy says….. He never uses that word unless he absolutely means it. “Okay,” I say. “I’ll do it.” (55-56)
No Starr, I promise he won't
Star, wanting to provide justice for Khalil causes her to think more when she’s trying to forget. This helps bring the story along because it's showing the steps to giving Khalil his justice that everyone wants. It’s hard for her to talk about Khalil, so helping him get justice is helping her let go of all the pain. Her option of going was a hard decision, but at the end, she’s doing it for Khalil and Khalil only.
