EXPOSITION: Characters: Tom Sawyer, Huckleberry Finn, Injun Joe, Becky Thatcher, Aunt Polly, Muff Potter, Joe Harper Settings: St. Petersburg, Jackson's Island, Missouri Conflict: Tom and Huck witnesses the murder of Dr. Robbinson caused by Injun Joe and could possibly leave them in danger if they say a word about what they witnessed.
Rising Action 1: Tom Sawyer tricks many boys into whitewashing the fence and receives many items return including marbles, a bitten apple, and more.
Rising Action 2: Tom Sawyer and Huck Finn witnesses Injun Joe murdering Dr. Robinson and framing Muff Potter in the graveyard.
Rising Action 3: Tom Sawyer, Huck Finn, and Joe Harper fakes their death and pretend to be pirates on an island called Jackson Island. Though, Joe and Tom feel homesick and miss their family. Meanwhile at home, Aunt Polly, Mrs. Harper, Mary, and Sid are feeling sad that they had drowned. Tom sneaks into their house and watches as they cry and realizes they love and care for him more than he thought. Tom, Huck, and Joe misses home too much that they go home and surprises the whole town at their own funeral.
Rising Action 4: Muff Potter is caught for the murder of Dr. Robbinson, even though he did not commit it. Tom and Huck swore they would not tell a single word about what they witnessed, but they feel guilty for keeping it to themselves and letting Muff suffer the consequences.
