- Romeo is the son of the Montague family. He falls in love very quick. He is heartbroken over Rosaline, who did not love him back. But, he finds a new love interest.
- Lord Capulet
- Juliet is 13 years old. Daughter of the Capulet family. In the beginning she seems like a young naive child but then she discovers her love for Romeo.
- Lady Capulet
- "Tell me, Juliet, would you like to get married?" Pg. 34
- The nurse was hired by Lady Capulet so the nurse could take care of Juliet. The nurse is very talkative and humorous. She has a very close bond with Juliet and talks about her dead daughter.
- Tybalt
- "That's him, that villain Romeo!" Pg. 45
- "Calm down, nephew. Leave him alone. He is behaving like a civilized gentleman" Pg. 45
- Lord Capulet is the patriarch of the Capulet family. He is the father of Juliet and the Uncle to Tybalt. He is very wealthy and is protective of his family.
- Lady Capulet is Juliet's mother and Lord Capulet's wife. She had Juliet at a very young age. She has a nurse that takes of Juliet and she is always relying on the nurse. She also wants to see Juliet marry Paris.
- Tybalt is Lord and Lady Capulet's nephew, so he is a Montague. He is a hothead and a fighter who is always looking for conflict.
