On May 29th 1660, his 30th birthday he was received in London to public acclaim. After 1660, all legal documents were dated as if he had succeed his father as king in 1649. England was Happy, King Charles II was nothing like his father and he left parliament alone to do what they needed to as long as he could have his parties. Glory days were restored in England.
Thank you , Thank You its good to be home

Welcome Home King Charles II
Charles II died, came James II. He was not relaxed. James II was Catholic. He made lots of laws that helped Catholics get more power in England. Parliament didn't like this, because they were mostly Protestant, Just like Charles I, he dismissed Parliament. Parliament came up with a way to expel James II WITHOUT another Civil War. they just needed to find someone who was family with James II, but Catholic. They found Mary, his daughter. Mary was living in Holland.
We miss King Charles II... Lets send a message to the kings daughter Mary in Holland
My name is King James II and I am catholic and since your parliament is protestants. The parliament is dismissed. I am KING
Mary and her husband William invaded England. James II knew he was going to lose the fight so fled to France and lived there in exile for the rest of his life. William and Mary became king and queen . No more kings and no more messing with parliament...This is called The Glorious Revolution. It was bloodless. England got its Protestant kings and its Constitutional Monarchy without another war. Parliament is now the big power in England, not just the king.
