  • Chapter 7
  • There's something I didn't tell you 
  • You've never told me anything about that night
  • Chapter 10
  • I haven't shot a gun in thirty years 
  • I can't shoot that well  and you know it 
  • Chapter 12
  • It's time you start bein' a girl and acting right!
  • Jem tells Scout about the night he went to retrieve his pants. Jem went back to get his pants because he didn't want to disappoint Atticus. Jem knew that if Atticus would've found out he went to the Radley's he would not be trusted.
  • Atticus has just shot Tim Johnson with Scout and Jem watching in amazement. The moment made Jem realize that Atticus took pride into his god  given ability. By Atticus not being flamboyant Jem learns more about Atticus character.
  • Jem becomes more moody as he grows apart from Scout more when he tells her to become more like a girl. This event leads Jem to see the otherside of how girls really act. This shows that Jem is becoming more of a teenager.
