Theologian and Geran Monk, Martin Luther (1483-1546) was caught in a terrible lightning storm, and begged to be saved as in return, he would become a monk. He felt that monastery would find him salvation, however he did not find the religious enlightenment he was seeking.
Here is Martin Luther; born and raised in Germany, has a Roman nationality, he was catholic turned lutherism and was born in 1483 then later died in 1546. He is nailing up the 95 theses (reasons the church should change) to the door of the Castle Church Wittenberg, Germany. He did this on the 31st of October 1517. Martin Luther wanted people to know that you can’t buy your way into heaven; you have to earn it.
Hi all! I am Martin Luther and I want change! I am creating a religion called lutheranism, it follows the Bible; indulgences are not meant to be payed for - it doesn’t say it in the Bible! I have translated the Bible to German so you can all read it. Who’s with me?!?
This is showing the rich being able to buy off their sins, when on the other hand the poor can’t afford to so they think they are doomed because they wont be accepted into heaven… but Martin Luther knows that it’s wrong because it does not say that you have to pay to get your sins forgiven, he wants change and he’s going to make some!
Welcome to Lutheranism
re writing the bible... he was called a heritic and went into hiding... while in hiding he translate the Bible to German so that more people were able to read it and so more people trusted him and moved from the Catholic Church to Lutheranism
This is Martin Luther protesting with the community, he wants change and he’s going to get it! Martin Luther has officially pushed the button to the catholic reformation. He did this because he new that what catholics were doing was defiantly not right, they were not following the Bible, therefore not doing things in God’s name. He wanted to follow the Bible to the T and that mean’t everyone being equal this was the goal of his new religion; Lutheranism. As he quotes, ‘if you want change, pick up your pen and write’.
Martin Luther and his followers turned to the religion of Lutheranism. Although the schism of the Protestant Reformation was reprobated by the Counter Reformation, it ended in unity, imposed by the Council of Trent. The Council of Trent saw that faith was lost in the Catholic Church and therefore rid of all corruption, including the selling of indulgences as well as immoral Church leaders.
