In 1969,3 astronauts, Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Buzz Aldrin, blasted off from Cape Kennedy Florida from Saturn V. This was the Apollo 11 mission to the moon.
They took off with 2 crafts, the Columbia and the Eagle.
It took them 3 days to reach the moon.
On July 20th, Armstrong and Aldrin landed on the moon. Neil was the first person to walk on the moon. The two took photos, collected moon rocks, and planted an American Flag. They made it back to the spaceship safe.
One small step for man, and one giant leap for mankind.
They made it back to earth, 3 days later. They landed in the Pacific Ocean. No One would touch them because they had moon germs!
My favorite part was when they go to space. This book is good for kids how like space.
