  • These impressments are outrageous. 
  • When:
  • I will declare war now!
  • Indians:
  • Charge!
  • James Madison, Francis Scott Key, and Tecumseh were all involved with the war. Madison is thinking about all the impressments and thought about what to do.
  • Story of Francis Scott Key:
  • hey can you let my friend go?
  • James Madison is declaring war! This starts the war of 1812 well... on 1812 This was the first ever war that we declared as a country.
  • Story of Francis Scott Key:
  • Tecumseh and other Indians helped Britain capture fort Detroit. In the fight to keep independence for Indians. 
  • Why this event is important and the end of the war.
  • So now we will no longer be at war when we sign this treaty.
  • Francis tried to free his friend from imprisonment. His friend was imprisoned even though he was innocent. He was instead taken as a prisoner. He was forced to watch the fort get bombarded.
  • Sure come aboard.
  • Francis wrote the Star Spangled Banner on this ship when he saw that the american flag was still standing. Once the British left, he knew that the Americans have survived to fight another day.
  • The war of 1812 ended on the year of 1815. It ended with the Treaty of Ghent. This was important, because it was the first declaration of war from the United States. It also proved that the U.S was strong enough to survive in the world with England and other countries.
