  • The north liked the protective tariffs because up north is where all the factories were. The south didn't like it because they did a lot of trading with other countries . Andrew Jackson wanted our country to be a union but his vice president John Calhoun supported states' rights.
  • South Carolina said that they could nullify of get rid of the tariffs of abominations.but congress passed the force Bill of 1830 to force them not to nullify
  • And now we are going to get rid of Andrew Jackson's law that is very unfair to all southern states.
  • I just think we should let our states nullify the tax. They do have rights you know
  • John Calhoun and Andrew Jackson have different opinions on if states should  be able nullify or cancel laws
  • Well I say they need to follow my laws .
  • Andrew Jackson went to congress to get help or to back him up to help solve the problem that the southern people called the Tariffs of Abominations.
  • Henry Clay makes the Compromise tariff of 1830 that would solve the problems of both sides by lowering the taxes on imported goods
  • wow thats why they call you the great compromiser.
  • I think I have a compromise that will help your problem.
  • Victory
  • Finally both northern and southern states feel they have claimed victory Thanks to Henry Clay.
