This is boring.
Newton's First LawAn object in motion will stay in motion, and an object at rest will stay at rest, unless acted on by another force.
This is interesting!
We learned about Newton's first Law in Physics today!
Really? Sounds cool.
We should test out the law!
OK, well how do we do it?
We just have to kick this ball, then stop it.
Yup, because the law says that the ball will keep moving until something stops it. In this case, us.
But the ball would still eventually stop without us.
An outside force would still be acting on it. That force would be friction. The other way the law works is currently happening, the ball won't move unless another force moves it.
Like us kicking it! I get it now.
