  • The story starts by letting the reader know what type of world they are living in. The story states "The year was 2081 and everybody was finally equal." They are sad because their son got taken away.
  • Climax
  • The main conflict in this story is person vs society. The conflict is that Harrison burgeon is too smart, strong, and fast but can't do any of these things do to his handicaps. He does no like these and so he rebels. The story states "then other people'd get away with it-and pretty soon we'd be right back to the dark ages again, with everybody competing against everybody else.
  • Falling action
  • Harrison is announced missing from Jail and as a large threat. The author writes “When George could open his eyes again, the photograph of Harrison was gone. A living, breathing Harrison filled the screen.”
  • Resolution
  • Harrison calls himself emperor and picks a dancer as his empress and takes off both of their handicaps. Then the story states “And then, neutralising gravity with love and pure will, they remained suspended in air inches below the ceiling, and they kissed each other for a long, long time.”
  • Diana Moon Glampers walks into the room with a shotgun and shoots 2 shots. “They are dead before they hit the floor.“ It says in the story.
  • Harrison’s dad walks into the room after getting a beer and asks why his wife is crying. She says it is something very sad She saw on TV. Then his ear ringer goes off and the story states “Gee - I could tell that one was a doozy," said Hazel."You can say that again," said George."Gee-" said Hazel, "I could tell that one was a doozy."
