Stanley and Zero arrived at god's thumb and now all they need to do is climb it. Stanley still had energy, but Zero didn't have much left.
Zero had little strength left in him. Stanley tried keeping him up and active by giving him words.
Zero fell and didn't get up. Stanley grabbed his arms and picked him up. He would have to carry him the rest of the way.
Stanley could not see his feet which made it hard to walk. He concentrated one step at a time. He thought about each step, and not the impossible task that lay before him.
He climbed higher and higher. His strength came from somewhere deep inside of him. After focusing on big thumb for so long, it seemed like the rock had acted like a magnet pulling him up toward it.
Even if he never could find water, he still wanted to reach big thumb. Stanley did not make it. His feet slipped, but he ended up in a small muddy gully which of course you need water to make mud! Maybe they found what they've been looking for after all!
