  • An anonymous call came in to the police with the apparant location of a wanted fugitive. The police were told that the criminal was reading in Mapp's house.
  • I know where to find your missing man. You'll find Virgil Ogletree at Dollree Mapp's house.
  • Police stormed to Mapp's house, but she refused to let them without a warrant.
  • Unless you have a warrant, you need to leave.
  • We know he's in there!
  • The officers returned with a slip of paper that they claimed was a warrant, but they would not allow Mapp to see or read it.
  • We have it right here. 
  • While searching for Ogletree the officers found numerous graphic paraphernalia and illegal gambling slips.
  • Look at what I have here!
  • During Ms.Mapp's court case she was initially charger but she fought the apparent warrant and the officers failed to present the document they had at the time of the search to the Supreme Court.
  • They did not have a warrant! This search was illegal! The Fourth amendment should protect me against unlawful searches at the state level.
  • Mapp won her appeal at the Supreme Court and the Fourth Amendment now applied to the states.
  • Evidence presented that was obtained in a seizure that violates the fourth is inadmissible in a state court.
