Spanish Conquest - Fight Against the Aztecs
In search of the Aztecs, Cortes and his men set sail for Mexico in 1518.
In 1519, the Spanish arrive in Tenochtitlan and are welcomed with gifts because of their similarity to the Aztec god of intelligence, Quetzalcoatl.
With the sole intent to gain silver, gold and land from the Aztecs, the Spanish devise a plan to conquer them.
Cortes and his men capture the King of the Aztecs, Montezuma, in order to gain control of Tenochtitlan. Montezuma is later killed mysteriously.
In 1521, the Spanish conquer the Aztecs and gained control of Tenochtitlan.
