Storyboard Text
It had just been another average day in the life of an metamorphic rock...but the rock cycle never stops...
"That's me, the metamorphic rock!"
"BuT THEN IT HAPPENED!"
"See, I used to be magma, also known as hot and melted igneous or metamorphic rock."
"Melting is a form of mechanical weathering, by the way. It's a physical change caused by high temperatures."
*flashback*
"I was launched in an eruption! And once I was above the ground, I began to cool.."
"I became an igneous rock, which is cooled lava. I was cooled extrusively! BUT THEN..."
("Cooling is another form of mechanical weathering, just so you know.")
*flashback*
"I was blown into a river and weathered down into sediment!"
"Then I was washed away and deposited beneath some rocks!"
"The water caused erosion, or the moving of sediment! Soon I was nothing more than sandy silt!"
*flashback*
"Pressure is another form of mechanical weathering!"
"I was washed underground and pressured into a cement-like rock - I was a sedimentary rock!"
"Sedimentary rocks are created when sediment, such as sand, is put under pressure and forms a more solid rock."
*flashback*
"Soon the cycle will continue- where it will take me, though, I don't know yet."
"I kept getting pressured and I heated up! After a while, I became a metamorphic rock."
"Metamorphic rocks are multiple pre-existing rocks joined together through pressure and heat! I fused with my buddy Fred!"
