  • This is Greece.
  • The first battle in the Persian War was the Battle of Marathon. This battle took place in Athens. A man named Pheidippides ran from Marathon to Athens bearing  news of an invasion. It was a Greek victory because of Pheidippides' strength. He dropped dead after sharing the news
  • The Persians are coming! The Persians are coming!
  • Thank you Pheidippides! Warriors assemble!
  • The next battle is the battle of Thermopylae . This battle took place in Greece this battle was between the Greeks and the Persians. Both Athens and Sparta were fighting, until Sparta told the Athenians to retreat. This left the Greeks with 300 soldiers. They fought as hard as they could, but it was  a Persian victory.
  • These are some Spartan soldiers lead by King Leonidas. This was a terrible loss for them.
  • The battle of Salamis was the first significant Naval battle. It took place in the Greek waterways. The Athenians were fighting in the water, while the Spartans were fighting on the land. It was a Greek victory because of the size of their ships and their knowledge of the waterways.
  • The Greek ships were very small and could go into small ares, whereas the Persian ships are large and can't fit in those spaces.
  • The Battle was one of the final land battles of the war. It took place in Greece like most other battles. It was also a Greek victory. When Xerxes gave up, he left his troops on the battle field. They continued to fight, but they lost.
  • Retreat! Retreat! Retreat!
  • Result of the war- Athens was left burned to the ground. this started the Delian League, an organization used to  get money to rebuild Athens. It was a Greek victory nonetheless.
