Two travelers, one a Tailor and the other a Shoemaker, decide to accompany each other on a journey to the capital earn more.
The Tailor, being a young and joyful man, buys only two days worth of bread while the Shoemaker buys 7 days worth of bread. The men get lost in the woods and the Tailor begins to starve.
With no food remaining, the Tailor agrees to have his eyes cut out by the Tailor in return for a little bread. He is then left all by himself in the woods. The Tailor is healed through a miracle and arrives at the capitol.
At the Capitol, the Tailor is framed for false accusations by the Shoemaker and is forced by the King to complete several missions.
The Tailor completes all his assignments and gains the favor of the King. He becomes a very rich man.
The Tailor retired as a rich happy man and married the King's daughter. The Shoemaker however, was never seen of ever again.
