  • The king of Britain gave certain taxes and made it law that the colony had to buy Britain's tea only.
  • The colonists were angry at Britain for taxing, making them only buy Britain's tea, and making unfair laws. So they threw Britain tea out in the water by hundreds. This is known as the Boston Tea Party.
  • Stop this instant!
  • The king was extremely angry and closed the harbor until the millions of dollars that were wasted were repaid and they made the colonists go all the way to Britain if their was a trial. This is known as the Intolerable Acts.
  • The colonists held even more protests and petitions. They wanted to become independent.
  • Taxation Without Representation!!!
