Once she got in there she had to hurry because she wasn't going to deal with is said other people's nonsense at that moment. The first thing she heard when she walked in there was "There ain't no sign marked colored on this door girl." Melba was desperate to find a stall so she couldn't even respond or stop to listen to what else they had to say. She felt alarmed by all their whispers. She had ran out of there fast but she had only stopped wash her hands but when she went to look on the mirror in lipstick is said "N , go home"
It was time for lunch and Melba and her friends were walking to the cafeteria. It was the biggest cafeteria they had ever seen. Once they got in there many of the students were looking at them. That didn't really bother her once she had seen that there was also people of her color there. There people of her color were smiling at her and she was thrilled to see that. Once they had sat down a group of friendly white girls had come to sit with them this was something that made Melba and her friend really happy.
