  • Does hair color affect the amount of static eletricity produced?
  • Static electricity is the transfer of an electron from a negatively charged object to  a positively charged object in a electric field.
  • Our experiment today is to test if hair color will affect the amount of static electricity and we will use a balloon to test this.
  • When you rub a balloon on your head your hair will create static electricity because opposite static charges build up on both the hair and the ballon.
  • We rubbed a balloon on each of their heads and they all produced the same amount of static electrcity
  • Hair color does not affect the amount of static electricity that is formed because the shift of the electrons of the atoms that made up the hair that cause the force of static electricity.
