  • Welcome to Versailles. Is everyone here?
  • Nobility is here. 
  • Clergy is here. 
  • The Oath of the Tennis Court
  • I don't like what the king is making us do in there. Let's form our own group called the The National Assembly
  • I agree with him.
  • During the American Revolution the French decided they wanted to help the Americans is the war. As a result they started an alliance sending them supplies they needed.  After the Americans won the war they realized that they were broke. This meant that taxes were high.
  • Storming of the Bastille
  • Look there's trying to tear down the prison out there. This is our chance to go free. There's so much blood. Ew!
  • When plans did not go well to get some money back the king thought to split the people into three groups, the Clergy, the Nobility, and the Third Estate. The reason the king did this was that he thought he would resolved the country's debt.

  • While in the meeting the third estate did not like what was going on so they decided to walk right out to an indoor tennis court. There they decided they would get away from the king and then they would form there own group called "The National Assembly."
  • People Chant "Life, Liberty, Fraternity"
  • "Life, Liberty, Fraternity"
  •   Soon later the groups started to make demands. One demand was that the governor would give over all there cannons and other guns. As the government refused to  hand them the weapons the people got angry and started to raid the church killing everyone and letting seven prisoners free. 
  • I had enough!! Let's go!!
  • Later the National Assembly meets up to and passed the "Declaration of the Rights of Man" this document stated the principles of the revolution. They also said that everone had the rights of freedom and equality. 
  • Further into the revolution people started to take to the streets yelling and chanting "Life Liberty Fraternity." This eventually became a war cry for the revolution.
