Storyboard Text

  • Protagonist: Tessie Hutchinson
  • "It isn't fair, it isn't right¨
  • Antagonist:  Mr. Summers
  • "All right, folks¨ ¨Let's finish quickly."
  • Point of View
  • ¨Tessie Hutchinson was in the center of a cleared space by now, and she held her hands out desperately as the villagers moved in on her. "It isn't fair," she said¨ Tessie Hutchinson believed the lottery should stop. She did not think the event needed to occur and went against what everyone else believed. She tried to stand up for herself, but it did not work, and the town was upon her.
  • "All right, folks." Mr. Summers said. "Let's finish quickly." Mr. Summers was the man who conducts the lottery. Along with the rest of the town, he believes the lottery should take place rather than remove it like other towns around them. They believe this event will help them get better crops for the season, and they can not afford to take any chances.
  • ¨The people of the village began to gather in the square, between the post office and the bank, around ten o'clock¨ The narrator of ¨The Lottery¨ describes the process of the event and what is happening rather than having the characters explain what is happening and how they feel.
