  • The French and Indian War
  • Britain and France started a war between each other over who would own the Ohio River Valley.
  • The French allied with the Algonquins and Hurons against the British and the Iroquois. The Iroquois remained mostly neutral and fought for both sides until they allied with the English.
  • Ohio River Valley, 1754-1763
  • Spain, England, and France were trying to keep each other from gaining too much power. The French and Indian War was simply caused because England wanted more land.
  • Britain gained all the land east of the Ohio River and Spain gained all the land west of the river. France was kicked out of America
