  • Love Letters To The Dead
  •
  • By: Ava Dellaira
  • (Laurel) The first day Mrs. Buster gave us our first English assignment. She wants to write a letter to the dead. So i'm writing to Kurt Cobain about thoughts and my sister.
  • "I'm Laurel"
  • "I took my chance and sat down at the end of the bench"
  • "Hannah Looked up from her Capri Sun 'Laurel? That's the coolest name ever."
  • "I'm Natalie. This is Hannah"
  • This book is about how Laurel's English teacher gives a assignment to write to the dead. Laurel doesn't know how to accept the fact that May is dead. So during her letters she explains what happened to her dead sister May.
  • "I know May's dead. I mean, I know it in my head, but it doesn't seem real. I still feel like she's here, with me somehow."
  • Flashback when May was alive and Laurel was little
  • It is the first day of this school for Laurel and her English teacher tells her to write a letter to the dead. The first letter she chose Kurt Cobain because it was her sister May favorite person.
  • (1) "What are you scared of?" (2) "I know what it is, You're scared of the witches..." (3) "Ive been waiting to tell you unitl you were old enough. But I think youre ready" (4) "We're fairies."
  • (1) "I'm scared (2) "I don't Know" (3) "We Do?" (4) "What?"
  • Laurel was looking for a seat at lunch and Natalie from her English class invited her over. These are Laurel's new best friends.
  • "I try not to think of Billy's hand or where it is, so I just focus on trying to breathe"
  • Flashback when May was alive
  • In the Letter that she is writing to River Phoenix it shows that Laurel can't get over May. She wishes everything was the same with her parents and May. Laurels parents got divorced while May was still alive but after she died her mom moved to California so Laurel switches houses between her dads and her aunt.
  • Ever Since May told Laurel that they are Fairies everything seemed good to Laurel. Nothing bad can happen and if something does they can fight it together.  But since May isn't here everything is going bad for Laurel.
  • In the letter To Kurt Cobain, Laurel explains that May drops off Laurel to the movies with May Boyfriend friend Billy. Billy is suppose to watch Laurel but instead he touches her inappropriately and May does not know.
