Interviewer: "What is your criteria for the quality of items you choose to donate? Do you sort your things before donating?"Person 3: “I donate everything, something is better than nothing. I’m sure that there are some less privileged people out there that need my stuff."
Person 4: “If I’m being honest… I usually just throw everything in a bag that I don’t want anymore and bring it to the donation bin. I donate it because I need to get rid of some stuff that I don’t use anymore. Plus, it makes me feel good that I’m giving everything I can.”
Interviewer: “RC has 2 sorting centers in DK, around 8.500 Tons of clothing comes through there every year. An incredible amount of resources are used on sorting through every item to determine if it’s viable for resale in DK or not."
Person 3: "That is SO MUCH sorting! That must take forever! And they are all volunteers who do it for free!"
Interviewer: "How many percent of the donations that RC gets, do you think is viable for resale in DK and what do they do with the rest?"Person 5: “Oh!I’m sure it’s a lot. Maybe around 70%? I think they ship the rest to people in need”
Person 6: “Well…At least 50% would be my guess. I think the last 50% is donated to poor people all around the world”
