Let's go back in time
I am a time traveler and my mission is to show you how early humans evolved.
The first humans did not know how to write, so they left no written history and that is why they are called prehistoric.
Stone age
More interesting facts
During this time people made tools and weapons out of stone.
They fed mainly on berries, nuts, and roots. To obtain meat they hunted in clans, animals such as wolves and mammoths.
Clothing is necessary to protect themselves from extreme temperatures, which is why the first humans dressed in animal skins.
Food and Clothing
First civilizations
They traveled 2 to 3 miles every 20 years. Scientists believe humans were slowly moving from Africa to other parts of the world.
Shelter
The primitive peoples were nomads. Their huts were made of bones, grass, and branches. The caves were also used as a shelter.
Early humans also found they could plant a seed in the earth and grow food.
People learned to make fire and used it for heating and cooking.
Some hunters and gatherers learned to domesticate wild animals, so they had meat whenever they needed it.
Good morning Mary
Hello Sofia
After learning to grow crops, food was readily available and communities began to grow.
By 6000 B.C., some communities had developed into civilizations that already had a language and a government.
Most of the early communities grew along riverbanks because farmers needed a constant supply of water for their crops.
