I'm John Rolfe and I began growing new tobacco using seeds from the West Indies.
Everybody in Jamestown was loyal to King James 1 by bringing him riches and spreading Christianity. (King James sent viceroys to the new world to give orders.)
John Rolfe sold tobacco to England, smoking started becoming popular in England. The Jamestown colonists found that they could sell as much tobacco as could produced. After the indentured servants, and plantations more workers were needed. More slaves came to the Southern English Colonies in America. Which made Jamestown every successful.
Captain John Smith ,a former English soldier, became the leader of the settlement. When he was captured by the Indians and condemned to death, Pocahontas, the daughter of Chief Powhatan saved him and begged her father to spare his life.
After the three ships reached the coast of Virginia, Captain Christopher Newport began looking for a location suitable for new settlement Jamestown was founded After the ships sailed up the James River, Jamestown was the first permanent English settlement in America, that was built on a swamp with disease carrying mosquitoes in the area and it was difficult raising crops and unprofitable.
Its surprising that Jamestown was a success because of how many problems there were, starting from fire, droughts, Indian attacks, disease, and starvation that made hundreds of people die, and weak, but they didn't give up.
