Storyboard Text

  • I pray thee, good Mercutio, let's retire. The day is hot, the Capulets abroad, we will not escape a battle. 
  • You are someone who loves fighting, but tries to hide it.
  • Your words are like blows.
  • I want to speak with you. 
  • Mercutio, you hang out with Romeo.
  • Sorry, but I love you dearly, and don't recall hurting you.
  • Romeo, you are villainous, and have wounded me.
  • Benvolio and Mercutio are talking in the streets. Benvolio is worried. Mercutio laughs and pokes fun at Ben. 
  • I can whoop your butt. You're just a prince of cats. 
  • Bring it on!
  • Tybalt walks up. He is looking for Romeo, to do battle with him.
  • Stop Fighting!!
  • Romeo enters. Tybalt tries to start a fight.
  • Romeo is hearby banished from Verona! I give him a sentence one scale less than death.
  • My nephew is dead! The Capulets need revenge!
  • Mercutio taunts Tybalt. Tybalt is confused, and wants to know why Mercutio wants to fight him. They then fight. 
  • Romeo tries to stop the fight by stepping between them. Tybalt kills Mercutio under Romeo's arm. Merutio says, "A plague on both your houses!", then dies. Tybalt leaves.
  • Romeo laments Mercutio's death. Tybalt comes back. Romeo kills Tybalt, then flees to Friar Laurence's cell. Prince Escalus says that Romeo is now banished from Verona.
