On the 11th of June 1509, King Henry VIII married with Catherine of Aragon. She was a Spanish princess and he married her to obtain friendship with Spain. She had 6 children but only 1 girl survived. Her name was Mary. Henry divorced her because he thought she was old and boring and she didn't give him any boys.
Anne of Cleves
Henry VIII thought that Anne Boleyn was very young, sexy and fashionable. She had a daughter, which made Henry VIII very sad. Anne then got beheaded by Henry even though there wasn't any proof because he accused her of having sex with 4 other men and her brother.
Jane Seymour was Henry's 3rd wife. It is said henry really loved Jane and was very sad when she died. Jane was the only wife that gave Henry a son, Edward. Henry was extremely happy but Jane died a few days later due to infection .
Henry married Anne of Cleves to bring friendship between England, Wales and Germany. She was serious and unfashionable. Henry saw a photo of Anne and liked what he saw but when she arrived he said she looked like a 'fat horse from Flanders'. Henry divorced her.
Catherine Howard was young, lively and very beautiful. She flirted with lots of men and had 7 serious relationships before Henry VIII and he found out and was furious. A queen shouldn't have a past like this. Henry executed her. Her ghost is said to haunt the corridor where she begged henry for forgiveness.
Catherine Parr was Henry VIII's 6th wife. Catherine and Henry VIII married on 12th July 1543. Henry VIII died in 1547 before Catherine.
