"Yes, soon Felly, I will be able to bite your ankles just like you bite mine."
"Oh, no , Mumma. Don't do that, you won't have to."
"No darling, only you feast, this is your day. Ok, I'll give some to this little fella'. He's never had crab before."
"Tristen gave me a gun. It has a silencer on it."
Brother / Narrator
'I walked back across the tar-pit, leaving Ikky. I walked back strong and made to the top of the hill before I started to cry.'
'I played the flute the best I had ever played before.'
Ikky is very brave as she tells her mum that there is no need to get out the gun that Tristan gave her and is also very playful and childlike because she tells Felly that she will be able to bite her ankles like Felly normally does.
Mumma is very upset, desperate and understanding because she offers to make Ikky's death and agony quick by offering her a gun and is also very caring and loving because she gives some crab to Dash when it is Ikky's day but Mumma wants to make it special and treasure the last moments.
Ikky's brother is very determined to spend the last moments with his sister wisely and treasure them. Normally, he would be pushing spikes in Ikky's head but today he played to his very best standard. Also, he is strong but does have sadness inside him. He misses Ikky.
