Prometheus created creatures, "Some creatures he armed with tusks, sharp claws, or stinging tails so that they could defend themselves." (pg. 104)
"He was feeling quite proud of his accomplishments when suddenly he came upon man. Man was naked and defenseless." (pg.104)
Hephaestus and Athena helped Prometheus and taught him the knowledge of arts and crafts. "Silently and secretly they taught Prometheus their knowledge of arts and crafts, so that he, in turn, could impart this knowledge on humankind."
Prometheus stole fire, and Zeus decided to punish him for it. "Prometheus, thief of fire! Look at me when I speak to you!" Zeus shouted at Prometheus because he stole fire from the gods.
Prometheus rebelled against Zeus because he enjoyed his creations. "He is a committed creator." Even though Zeus forbid him, Prometheus disobeyed him because he liked his accomplishments and wanted to create things for man.
Prometheus accepts his punishment from Zeus. "He controls his own destiny in the sense that, knowing the punishment." Even though he knew that he was going to be punished, in a way, he stood up for what he believed in.
